Uncertain. Likely a transliteration of Urdu زُہْران (zuhrān), or possibly ظُہْرَان (zuhrān)—both of Arabic origin, but most likely from Arabic زهران (“bright”) and Arabic أَزْهَر (ʔazhar, “radiant”). The Urdu variant زوہْرَان (zohrān) is considered a corruption.
